It was a bit grey overhead, but the joy + assurance in their hearts made the day remarkable despite the weather. It was small. So small there were only nine of them. As they stood in the chapel, beneath the holy cross in a perfect circle, each and every person present had a very special role to play within the ceremony. Beneath their feet, engraved in the floor was a labyrinth, forming a reflection of prayer. A pattern with a series of twists and turns that lead to the center of the circle. To Hank + Elizabeth, this path represents that of life. As they have walked the labyrinth in prayer, their paths have lead them to their true center. In the series of twists and turns, they have found one another, along with God.After a beautiful ceremony at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Winston Salem NC the couple made their way to meet some special friends to celebrate their wedding day at Childress Vineyards in Lexington NC. The rainy evening continued with vino, cigars, toasts and fellowship. An absolutely perfect day for the new Mr. & Mrs.
Elizabeth + Jennifer are not just mother and daughter. They are best friends. It was not only a celebration of Hank + Elizabeth's wedding on this day, but also for these two ladies. A friendship without words, a mother and daughter's triumph of hardships from the past, Jennifers happiness for her mothers new life and relationship that is so well deserved. A new beginning in so many more ways than just one. And with that they had a moment to raise their glasses to the triumph of the past and the beauty of the future.
